The winter charm of the TURBIO RIVER in Paris.
Day 1: A Journey of Discovery at Leroy Merlin
As we ventured into the vast expanse of Leroy Merlin, we were struck by the array of materials on display. Our mission was to source the perfect material for our ephemeral installation, but the sheer variety of options left us slightly disoriented. After much deliberation, we decided on white PVC rolls to construct the installation envelope, which would serve as the canvas for our video projection.
Day 2: An Impromptu Installation Unfolds. The next day, we found ourselves at the École Spéciale d’Architecture patio, where an impromptu installation was about to unfold. The wintry charm of Rio TURBIO in Paris provided the perfect backdrop for our creative endeavors. With no ideas, budget, or formal plans, we relied solely on our enthusiasm to drive the project forward.
As we stumbled upon security fences behind a wooden barrier, an idea began to take shape. We envisioned a temporary pavilion that would showcase our latest building workshop videos, demonstrating how everyday objects, like fences, could be repurposed creatively.
The students joined forces, and the energy of the group became dynamic. We worked together, fueled by our passion for design and our desire to push the boundaries of what was possible. As the day progressed, our installation began to take shape, and the results were nothing short of remarkable. Khristian Ceballos, Marcos Coronel and Alexandre Schrepfer. Nov 2023
